Club News

Our beloved Treasurer Tim passed away in September 2020, he was one of our founder members and was instrumental in the way the club operated.

Tim was the skipper, diver and co-owner of the dive boat Freedom which was used on our club dives from the mooring off East Beach Selsey.

It was Tim who organised the permanent marking of The Outer Mulberry dive site in order to make finding the site easier for other visiting divers.

Tim’s legacy will live on in our club with Freedom continuing to operate, he would have wanted this and will be able to look down and smile at all his friends enjoying diving and looking after the underwater environment.

Sleep tight our money man.

Whether diving in or riding on,
The Ocean was his Home.
The Scilly Isles, Maldives and Red Sea’s,
Malta, Penzance, and of course Selsey.
Variable ‘Vis’, but he was happy.
The Ocean was his Home.

Fishing trips, lobster pots, mackerels on feathers,
Early morning starts for deep sea endeavours,
A beautiful day out but not quite ‘The Aggressor’,
The Ocean was his Home.

The deepest of blues and emerald greens,
Hidden treasures and the cool sea breeze,
Always back in the bosom in time for tea,
The Ocean was his Home.

He spent a lot of time on the water,
He spent even more time in the sea,
The Mixon, The Teapot and The Mulberrys,
The Ocean is now his Home.
