Vobster 17th December

A trip to Vobster for the last dive of the year.  A few hardy souls braved -5°C crossing Salisbury plain to reach our destination and then surviving the ice-covered concrete.  The group split in two for the diving, with the first going off for a look round the aircraft and the crushing works while the other used one of the training platforms to carry out the Advanced Diver rescue drills for two students.
Visibility was poor by Vobster’s standards, only 3 metres.  Water temperature 7°C.  Depth 20 metres.

Outer Mulberry Sunday 17th April A flat calm sea and no wind, perfect for diving We have changed the ground chain this week, so divers can swim from the mooring buoy straight to the bouyancy chamber Although the water temperature is still only 10degC, fish life is starting to return to the Mulberry Lump Suckers are in abundance (a shore sign that the water is still cold) The plankton bloom has started early and is reducing the visibility down to 5-6M
